This elegant small hourglass is the perfect size & I love the simple design. A review I read prior to purchasing it, mentioned the natural multicolored grains of sand; which is why I chose this particular one. I'm very happy with it.
Hourglass arrived fine, though the box was damaged and the sender put the minimum amount of effort into padding the box. What’s most frustrating is the hourglass arrived intact, but it’s held together with glue. The beads of glue are noticeable, and indicate a general laziness in production that does not match price I paid for this. Oh well, shame on me for buying something sight unseen.
PS Hopefully now these pesky emails stop coming in reminding me to review their product.

Not as visually elegant as the rounded ones I purchased, but perfectly functional, and seems less prone to breakage (without a stand) than the round ones.
The shape and glass on this is very elegant; it's very pretty. I got it as a tool to help my daughter learn about time, and I've found it useful.
Now that I have a four-year-old using it, I wish I'd sprung for the one in the wooden stand. But so far we haven't broken it.
What a beautiful timepiece this is. I've always liked hourglasses and couldn't resist buying one for myself. When I first took it out of the box it I thought how much nicer it looked in person than on the website. It's very solidly made. You can tell a lot of care went into both the wood and glass and that it will last for many years. I wanted a semi functional timer as well and even though they list these as ornamental, I was happy to see that after testing the times we're actually pretty on point. Side A had an average time of 1:01:20 with the highest divergence of 1:01:27 while side B had an average of 1:00:30 with the fastest being 1:00:27. So all in all pretty accurate!
I been looking for an hourglass like this one for a while now. I found this one, and it is perfect, a 10/10. Beautiful wood finish, very elegant and simple design. A bit pricy but worth every penny for the quality and beauty that you get in return. I highly recommend this product.

Arrived with a huge crack down the end, was told "Actually that crack didn’t happen during shipment. Because of how these hourglasses are made (from bobbins and shuttles sourced from old cotton factories) all of them have imperfections (cracks, discolorations, slight wobble etc). Much like antique furniture will have scratches/dents etc these hourglasses are in similar condition as they were actually used in a prior life 😊."
Over the next few days with minimal/light use, the crack became deeper, a small chip of wood from the center fell off, and the other side now has a crack. Additionally, the hourglass times out to around 4:30 instead of 5:00 minutes, and the sand in the hourglass consistently sticks to the edges towards the end of the 4:30.
Overall would not recommend this hourglass. See reviews for different size antique bobbin hourglass for similar experiences, I wish I read those before purchasing.

Loved it But had to send it back for a replacement Would completely stop flowing about half to three quarters, stop Sent back couple days ago now just wait on the other one

This hourglass (I ordered the 5-minute option) is solidly made, and accurate. The compass on the top and bottom is a nice touch too.
