This is a brand new Signature Collection hourglass. Handmade from solid chechen grown in Central America and protected by an oil rubbed finish. A heavy, dense wood it is as smooth as marble. The colors range from brown, orange, red, golden, and black all embedded with a shimmering iridescence. Makes a beautiful keepsake for your loved ones remains.

As with all wood each piece will vary slightly in graining and color making each hourglass unique. Hourglasses are handmade so sizes are approximate.

When i did my research it said that it was big enough for a adult but is way to small and is almost 300 dollars

I'm sorry you are unhappy with your hourglass! I'm not sure where you found that information in your research because we have this on our FAQ page:

'Can I use the hourglass as an urn?

Hourglasses are becoming a pleasing choice for use as an urn. We have globes made especially for this purpose (larger center holes to allow the ashes to flow more freely) and if you click here you can see your choices. Please contact us at cs@justhourglasses.com if you have any special requests for material other than sand or ashes and we will try to accommodate you. Please note depending on the amount of cremains you have the hourglass you choose may not be able to hold all of them.'

I don't see we received any emails from you inquiring about the globe size as we could have confirmed for you if the amount of cremains you had would fit in the globe of this hourglass.

Simply beautiful

The size, shape, color is exactly what was expected.

The only challenge is getting the ash mix just right so that it is able to move from top to bottom.

This hourglass was exactly what I wanted to hold my fathers memorial remains.
He actually picked it out before he passed. I ordered it a few weeks later. When it arrived a few weeks after that, the box was unharmed ( thank you delivery drivers), and packaged well. There was a letter inside explaining a little about the person that hand carved it..... this is a nice touch!
Now, I know a lot of people order these hourglasses for the same purpose, but it made us feel special to know that this particular piece was hand carved, by a real human being just for our family.
When you take the “ well packaged”pieces out of the box, you can see the care that was taken.
We put the hourglass together ourselves, because I couldn’t bare to send my fathers ashes away. It went together easily, just have to read/ follow the easy instructions. Over all I am very happy with this purchase, and really can’t say enough good things about this company, and the people that carve/ make the pieces.
