This timer is made of recycled industrial artifacts dating back to the 1960's. The timer is composed of antique wood spools found in abandoned textile mills in England. The spools were used to hold thread, cotton, and yarn that were spun into fabric. This particular timer was a ""tumbler"" and was used as a roller. Yarn passed between these rollers to be pressed and controlled before it was spun into fabric. The tumblers came from Joseph Lumb at Folly Hall Mill, Huddersfield, Yorkshire, which closed around 1969. A vintage thread spool sticker is placed on the base to give it even more character.
As with all antique and hand-made items, the colors and decorations vary from piece to piece. We consider this to be a special part of their history and character.

This hourglass is amazing and beautiful! I can’t wait to fill it on our wedding day in October!
I ordered the hourglass and the sand ceremony package. It arrived within two weeks of ordering it but the sand ceremony package was missing. Sent an email to customer service To let them know and got an answer back within 12 hours. There was a mixup in the shipping and mine was sent somewhere else. They sent out a new package the next day and I received my sand ceremony package within a week. Wonderful customer service!
